10 Years Ago Today
I know what I was doing around 8pm 10 years ago today. It was a Sunday. I was 16 years old. I was sitting with my dad, my brothers, and my sister, watching the movie Mr. Deeds. We got a knock at the door, and I answered it. My best friend and crush, a 15 year old @myareoplane was standing there, dressed in a McDonalds uniform and smelling like french fires. She asked if I could step outside for a minute and I said, “Yeah!” It was cold, windy and rainy, and there, on my front porch, like a scene out of a cheesy romantic comedy, she confessed that she liked me and that she felt “so stupid” for just realizing that she wanted to date me.
Tesia: “What do you think?”
Me: “Ok…”
Tesia: “That’s it? Just ok?”
Me: “I mean, of course! I’d really like that!”It’s been an adventure ever since, and I am happy to call my very first girlfriend my wife. 10 years since we started dating, we only understand each other better. I can’t wait to see what our story will look like in 10 more years! I love her very much.
What were you up to 10 years ago?

Awe cute story! Ten years ago I wasn’t doing anything good, I was 11 and just about to go into grade 8. I wore knee high socks, a short kilt and a polo shirt to school everyday as that was the uniform.
ten years ago… i was working as a tutor, and searching for a topic for my further study…. well, i was still single at that time..
This is a nice remembrance. Congratulations to you and your wife
Ten years ago I was doing more or less the same as I am today, working at the church, and raising my 2 sons, but I was also selling Tupperware, and I lived in a different house back then. Oh, and I didn’t yet blog.
That is a sweet story. Thank you for telling it. You brought me a few minutes of joy. I know the event has given you 10 years worth of it
Awesome story! Ten years goes by pretty fast! Bless yu, my friend….
That’s an awesome story. I think ten years ago I was 8. so I was probably playing with legos or something like that.
This is so sweet
Ten years ago I was finishing my junior year at my local public school. It was a new experience because I’d been homeschooled up until that point. I was also still getting over my ugly break up with my first boyfriend and getting ready to go on a missions trip to Mexico.
Congrats. Thanks for sharing.
Cute
!
AWWWWWW SO CUTE I wish I had someone to have a crush on me when I was 15… lol.
10 years ago I was working on my first of three drivers licenses, completing my first year of non-compulsory education, and gearing up for moving to Australia.
I was working as a “checkout chick” at a local supermarket, and trying to figure out this girl-thing.
My age was 17.
The crazy part is that I can go back and look at my Xanga post from 10 years ago. I’m like a Xanga Elder or something.
Ten years ago, I had already been married 10 years and I had a 9 year old.
@Foodhog - 11 was a good age
@maniacsicko - What topic did you choose for your study?
@Crystalinne - I didn’t blog yet either. It’s amazing to see the things that change in just 10 years!
@trunthepaige - It sure has!
@Jason - It does go by really fast! Thanks for the blessing!
@jordon@revelife - I love legos! I still play with them… I still can’t build very well, but they are a lot of fun!
@firetyger - I would like to know more about your transition from home-schooling to public schooling if you ever get the chance. I’ve had some friends that made such a transition and it had really negative affects on them. Then again, I have friends that had a great experience going from home-schooling to public schooling!
@mrswrangler - No problem! Thanks!
@XxrockxXxgirlxX - :)
@christykim - I’m sure you did… and if the guy was anything like me, you probably would have never known!
@cmdr_keen - Moving to Australia at 17? What a change!
@Jack_Hawksmoor - I’m almost there. I believe I’ve had my account (not this specific one) for 9 years.
@TheTheologiansCafe - Your age is showing!
@jmallory - hahah still cute though!! (Nice to know…)
@jmallory - Sure, ask away
I like talking about my schooling experiences as I’m kind of aiming to do the same thing with my kids.
