Looking back at my time as a Christian, I was always quite liberal in my beliefs (accepted evolution, had no issue with gays, against the death penalty, etc). Back then I didn’t know many open atheists, but looking back now I realize that I had more in common with the average atheist than I did with a lot of the Christians I know. Do you ever feel that you can relate more to atheists about much of life than with the stereotypical “Republican Christian”?
